Over the past decade, a wide variety of artists have called the Martinez Art Gallery home. We would like to invite all of our old members to come back and celebrate all that we have accomplished over the years and to look to the future of the arts in Martinez.

This celebration will be held from 10 to 4 pm, in the Old Train Depot parking lot at the end of Ferry Street. For more information or to participate in this free event please visit www.martinezarts.org.
On December 11, 2015, the Martinez Arts Association awarded $3,000 in grants to Martinez teachers to fund art projects in their classrooms. Twenty-four teachers requested money for art materials to support projects such as sand painting, mirror tiles, pillow making, scrap booking, making sculptures of Famous Americans, building a mission, making prints, making Native American pots, creating portfolios, and learning art techniques from DVDs. A photo class at Alhambra High School will use their funds for a field trip to San Francisco for "Art Talk and Walk" along Market St. The Martinez Art Gallery donates 15% of its sales toward these grants, and the MAA supplements funds from events and membership dues. Pictured are Mona Kolodzie and Melissa Waters, teachers at John Muir Elementary School, who were among this year's recipients.
